Hmm, what are those free virtualization methods aurora? I haven't experienced a system lockup since I used Linux. I can play DVDs on my machine just like in Windows. I can play videos on my machine just like in windows (except for proprietary WMV files, which almost no one uses). I don't need to install theme managers like Object Desktop to extend my system - the window manager provides it out of the box. In windows you wait for the next patch cycle even though the bug to be fixed is critical. Whenever a bug is found on my Linux system, I wait for at least an hour or a few days at worst before a patch is created. I don't have MS Office, but I have OpenOffice which can still open most MS Office documents. I don't have Counter-Strike but I have Tremulous, which is just as exciting and as fast-paced. My browser isn't prone to security problems, isn't tied to the operating system, is standards-compliant, and tabbed for a few years already. I can connect to the internet without fear of worms, viruses, and spyware being installed into my system. ![]() I don't have iTunes, but a lot of applications support iPods on Linux. I don't have photoshop, but I have GIMPshop - Photoshop menu-alike, but functions better, if not as good as PS. I don't have any problems with my SE phone when connecting to it, unlike in Windows where you need to install the drivers to make it recognize your phone. I also got beryl on it (see a screenshot somewhere on my blog liked below). I switched from Slackware Linux after I found out that I could easily configure my webcam from Ubuntu.
